The great green perspective of Montserrat

In the Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can contemplate the green fields after the rain in Bages with the silhouette of Montserrat silhouetted in the background.

These images invite hope in a context of prolonged drought in Catalonia. It is not in vain that the color green is normally associated with the environment and sustainability.

Admiring these green fields of Bages transmits a feeling of life, of renewal, which is also enhanced by the spirituality that is usually associated with the mountain of Montserrat.

The silhouette of this massif is unmistakable. With a maximum height of 1236 meters, formed by the peak of Sant Jeroni, this mountain rises abruptly to the west of the Llobregat river.

The mountain can be enjoyed from a distance, as when we contemplate views like these, but there are also several routes to enjoy it on the ground, beyond the visit to the popular monastery with Moreneta.

The route of the hermitages, for example, allows you to tour around fifteen of these small temples. The complete itinerary is quite long and can take up to 7 hours walking.
