The Government responds to Feijóo: "Either you are with a genocide or you are with his victims"

The Minister of the Presidency, Félix Bolaños, criticized this Friday the president of the Popular Party, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, for his words about the exhumation of the remains of Queipo de Llano and told him that "either you are with a genocide or you are with his victims".

Bolaños, who is in Montauban (southern France) this Friday to participate in a conference on Manuel Azaña, considered that Feijóo's reaction implies "an equidistance that is incomprehensible from a democratic point of view."

"Either you are with the memory of a genocide who had 45,000 people shot or you are with the memory of his victims. There is no more," he reiterated.

Feijóo opted yesterday to focus "on solving the problems of the living and leaving the dead in peace" when referring to the exhumation of the remains of General Gonzalo Queipo de Llano from the Macarena basilica, in Seville, early Thursday morning.

In statements to the media, the PP leader stressed that he is very concerned about the economic, social and institutional situation and, therefore, assured that he is not going to play politics with the dead because he does not believe that it is a priority for the Spanish, "but there, each with their priorities," he said.

"I like much more to talk about the living than the dead," insisted Feijóo without directly mentioning the exhumation of the leader of the 1936 uprising considered responsible for the execution of more than 45,000 people.

The remains of the general, his wife, Genoveva Martí, and the war auditor and person responsible for the execution of sentences with application of war decree Francisco Bohórquez, were removed last morning from the Basilica of the Macarena in compliance with the Law of Democratic Memory.

At 2:20 a.m. on Thursday, the mortal remains of the general, responsible for 45,000 executions, were removed from the place of honor where he was buried and, together with the soldier, the vehicle carried the remains of his wife, buried in the same church, in whose At the door, some family members applauded as the hearse passed.

The remains of Queipo de Llano, his wife and those of the war auditor were cremated yesterday at the Alcalá de Guadaíra funeral home (Seville) and the ashes were delivered to the families.
