The Government reduces the ratio of students per class to below 24

The Government will allocate 32 million euros to reduce the ratio of students per class during the mandatory phase to below 24. The measure - announced today by President Pere Aragonès - is part of the agreements signed with unions and employers within the framework of the Consell of the Social Diàleg.

It is one of the first decisions made by the Government after the poor results of the Pisa Report that placed Catalan students among those with the worst skills in the OECD countries.

The agreement of the Consell de Diàleg social is much broader and takes into account measures such as those to promote productive activity and industry, the promotion of employment policies or social protection policies. In this area, the increase in the IRSC (Catalonia's income sufficiency index) of 4% stands out. It will be 639.2 euros per month, which is equivalent to 8,949.4 euros.

For the national industry pact, the signatories have agreed to allocate 638 million euros. The agreement has been signed by President Pere Aragonès, the economic councilors and the employers' associations and unions.

The president of Foment, Josep Sánchez Llibre, in a subsequent appearance wanted to make it clear that what was signed is only some policies to be developed but that in no case do they support the 2024 budgets if the expansion of the airport, the construction of the B -40 or the authorization of the Hard Rock complex in Tarragona.

Also outside the agreement, the general secretary of CC.OO. Catalonia. Javier Pachecho has shown his disagreement with the reduction in personal income tax if the upper sections were not raised three points before.
