The Government delegate defends that Bildu "has done more for Spain than the jingoists with their wristbands"

EH Bildu continues to fly over the day to day of Madrid politics and, after taking over the regional campaign of 28-M, threatens to do the same at least in the run-up to the general elections. With the proviso that the person who has introduced the Basque independence formation into the debate this time has not been the regional president, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, but the government delegate, Francisco Martín, after stating that since Pedro Sánchez governs, the "alleged enemies of Spain" -in reference to the pacts of the Executive with Bildu-, "have done more for the Spaniards and for Spain than all the jingoists have done".

"Those supposed enemies of Spain have contributed to saving thousands of citizens' lives by supporting the state of alarm in the most difficult moments, they have dignified the lives of thousands of Spanish pensioners, and they have improved the working conditions of thousands of citizens, making possible some budgets that have materialized these issues", added Martín at an informative breakfast of the New Economy Forum.

"Therefore my question is not with whom it has been agreed, if they are how is it possible that those jingoists with their wristbands -in reference to the right-wing parties- were not rowing in favor of Spain and the Spaniards these five years. It is the great reflection of that stage", concluded the Government delegate.

The reactions in the Madrid PP have not been long in coming and the president of the Community has demanded the immediate dismissal of Francisco Martín after what she has described as "moral foolishness". Isabel Díaz Ayuso understands that the PSOE must do it out of "decency" and has demanded that the Government stop once and for all in its "desperate race to launder" EH Bildu.

"If he has decency, he should resign... we have five delegates in four years and he has a month left in office... so it's not like he was going to be missed much", Ayuso added for whom "it is clear that in Madrid" We have a delegate from the PSOE and not a delegate from the Government".

"What I wonder," he insisted, "is where we are; what a barbarity that is; I also want to remember that the heirs of Bildu are the same ones who have committed the most serious crimes against democracy in Spain. It was they, those, who They caused 123 deaths in the Community of Madrid alone, also police officers and civil guards who are supposed to be their people, the people of the Government delegate".

The acting mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, has also spoken in this regard, who has declared that Martín is "incapacitated" for the position. The councilor believes that "the Spaniards do not have to put up with the fact that the government delegate in Madrid, the capital most affected in Europe by terrorist attacks, where terrorism has suffered the most, allows himself to offend the memory of the victims of terrorism and say that Bildu is an example of patriotism".

For this reason, he added that it is "urgent" to remove the PSOE from the National Government, and he believes that July 23 "is an opportunity to do so" and break "with those who do not reject terrorism, with those who include terrorists in their lists, with those who assume through other channels the same aims that ETA defended through arms".
