The essence of autumn in Urgell

With this series of photographs for La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos I wanted to capture the essence of the autumn season in the Urgell region.

The snapshots capture details of the light, the colors and the elements that give life to the rural environment in the fields of the town of Tarròs, in the municipality of Tornabous.

90% of the county's surface is cultivated land, three quarters of which is rainfed, making agriculture the common thread of these images. From the detail of the grape clusters to the resin that comes off the stems.

This region is the scene of the Cistercian route and the Camino de Santiago (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO), which also passes through these paths. So pilgrims who travel through these lands in autumn will find this landscape.

In the photographs you can see the Urgell millimeter, that is, with attention to the details of autumn permeating the field at different times of the day.
