With an easterly wind in the Cadiz bay, the beaches of Rota are filled with practitioners of the water sport of kitesurfing, as we see in these images in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.
Rota is a well-known town for tourism. In the low season, the fishing industry is the main commercial activity, but it also attracts kitsurfers. Furthermore, with spring the weather accompanies and makes this practice more appealing while waiting for summer.
Although Rota and its 16 kilometers of beaches stand out for their scenic beauty, the truth is that this space is chosen by many visitors and tourists to practice water sports such as scuba diving, kayaking or kitesurfing.
Kitesurfing is the most practiced sport on the Rota coast. Despite the 16 kilometers of coast spread across six beaches, there are three beaches that stand out mainly for the practice of this sport throughout the year, although in summer the influx multiplies. They are Chorrillo-Rompidillo beach, Puntalillo beach and Puntalillo beach.
Kitesurfing or kitesurfing is a sliding sport consisting of the use of a traction kite that pulls the surfer along four or five lines, two of them fixed to the bar and the remaining two or three holding the body with a harness.
