The decree limiting tourist groups in Ciutat Vella is extended for one more year

The text of the new Decree limiting tourist groups in Ciutat Vella maintains the current regulation, which came into force in March and establishes that tourist groups cannot exceed twenty people and that the capacity established in some squares and streets in the district cannot be exceeded, especially in places with a large influx of people due to their tourist interest.

Limited group capacity will continue to be established in certain spaces, such as:

The text of the regulations establishes maximum capacity in spaces and monuments that require an explanation on site, which will have to be brief on days with a large influx of groups, and prohibits the use of loudspeakers for explanations, to encourage the use of radio guides and minimize the acoustic impact of visitors.

Since the Decree was put into effect, in the month of March, several pairs of civic agents have walked the streets of the district to inform the guides about the content of the regulation and communicate if this regulation has been breached to the Urban Police, which is in charge of issuing the sanctions in situ.

Failure to comply with the Decree can be sanctioned with up to 1,500 euros and up to 3,000 euros in cases of recidivism.
