The armed institute of Murcia reported this Wednesday the arrest in Alicante of the man, a compatriot of the victim and of whom it is unknown what type of relationship or kinship he had with her, and has indicated that the woman's lifeless body was found, the on the 10th, in a truck parking area in the municipality of Abanilla (Murcia), without initially knowing the identity.

The victim is Audrey Fang, who arrived on April 4 at a luxury hotel in Xàbia and was scheduled to continue there until the 10th and then return to her country, via Barcelona, ​​but on Tuesday the 9th she left the establishment on foot and alone. in the middle of the afternoon and since then his whereabouts were unknown.

Hotel staff went to the Civil Guard of this tourist town on the Costa Blanca of Alicante to report that the room cleaning service had noticed their absence despite the fact that they had left all their personal belongings, which gave rise to starting the search process, which included a visual inspection.

In parallel, one day after the disappearance, on April 10, at around 7 a.m., it was found in the truck parking lot of Venta Collares, located in the Salado Alto district next to the RM-422 highway, Fang's body although the identity was unknown at the time.

Her body showed signs of having been stabbed and the health workers who went to the scene could only confirm her death.

The case has been taken over by the Court of Instruction number 3 of Cieza (Murcia) and it is expected that the detainee, who from Alicante has been transferred to the Civil Guard offices in the Murcia Region, will be brought to judicial custody within a maximum period of time. of 72 hours, starting from the arrest that occurred this Tuesday.

A person close to the family of the missing woman explained to EFE this Tuesday that the Singapore diplomatic corps in Madrid had reported the situation to the armed institute in the Spanish capital shortly after the disappearance, and that until yesterday they had no news.

Members of Fang's family were scheduled to travel from Singapore to Spain in the coming hours.
