The budget of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area grows to 2,558 million euros

The Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB) has initially approved its budgets for the year 2024, which will amount to a consolidated amount of 2,558.5 million euros. The figure represents a growth of 3.6% compared to this year.

The green light for the metropolitan organization's accounts has come thanks to the vote in favor of the parties that are part of its government, the PSC, Junts per Catalunya, En Comú Podem and ERC. For their part, the PP and Vox have voted against and Compromís i Acord per Torrelles and Junts per Tiana have opted for abstention.

As explained by the AMB in a statement, this endowment "represents the third public budget in Catalonia, behind that of the Generalitat de Catalunya and Barcelona City Council". "The budget is placed in a containment line that guarantees the provision of metropolitan services and prioritizes actions of an environmental and social nature", they described.

The accounts include the consolidated budget of the AMB, the Metropolitan Taxi Institute and the forecast of expenses and income of the Metropolitan Institute of Land Promotion and Patrimonial Management (Impsol), an organization that is raising public floors in several localities in the metropolis of the capital Catalan

The status of the accounts of companies in which the AMB participates is also contemplated, such as Transport de Barcelona SA, Projectes i Serveis SA, TMB SL, Informació i Serveis SA, Societat Metropolitana de Rehabilitació i Gestió (Regesa) and Regesa Aparcaments i Serveis (Race).

In addition, the complementary documentation of the budget projects of consortia, foundations and commercial companies affiliated to the AMB is also included, such as the Institute of Regional and Metropolitan Studies of Barcelona, the Consortium of the Serra de Collserola Natural Park, Habitatge Metròpolis Barcelona, the Besòs Tordera Consortium, the Ecoparc 4 Consortium, the Metropolitan Housing Consortium, the Rivus Foundation and CCB Environmental Services.
