The lifeless bodies of a man and a woman have been located and recovered this Wednesday in the Casaño river, in the La Molina ravine, under the Pompedru bridge, in the Asturian council of Cabrales, by members of the Emergency Service of the Principality of Asturias (SEPA) and the Special Mountain Intervention Rescue Group (GREIM) of the Civil Guard.

The Emergency Coordination Center of 112 Asturias received the notification at 2:04 p.m. through a call indicating that they were seeing a person in the water, where shortly before they had heard screams in the area where they explained that canyoning was usually practiced.

After receiving the corresponding judicial authorization, the mortal remains of the deceased have been transferred by firefighters and GREIM members to the La Molina parking lot, where the funeral services and the coroner were waiting, reports 112 of Asturias.

The man's body was located submerged in a stream between two stones and that of the woman, about 30 meters higher, in a waterfall.

Firefighters and members of the Rescue Group managed to move them to a safe area while waiting to receive the corresponding judicial authorization to carry out their rescue after the doctor-rescuer could only confirm their death.

The Civil Guard took charge of the procedures to proceed with the removal of the bodies.
