The Badalona City Council (Barcelonès Nord) has resolved the file it opened two years ago against an agent of the Guàrdia Urbana for losing his regulation weapon in a cinema. The Urban Police officer lost his service weapon when he was watching a movie at the Màgic cinema with his partner. It is considered an aggravating circumstance to increase the sanction that he did not immediately report the incident to his superiors. The police officer usually acted as an escort for the then mayor, Xavier Garcia Albiol.
Initially, according to the same source, the investigator of the file wanted to impose a sanction of three years of suspension, but the City Council has reduced the sanction to one year and nine months. It so happens that the sanctioned person is a union representative of the PSU, the union in conflict with the other union that makes up the police commanders.
The weapon was found the next morning by the cleaning service, which immediately notified the Màgic center's security service, which in turn notified the Mossos and the latter to the Civil Guard, who confirmed that It was a weapon of the Badalona Urban Guard.
