The all-in-one startup for restaurants

"Restaurants are complex and a point has come where technology makes them even more complex because they end up requiring a technological tool for each operation," says Éric Nikolic Fraguela. Éric and his brother Iván learn about the headaches that the sector suffers through some relatives who own a restaurant. Both also have experience in the home delivery company Glovo, in which food deliveries play an important role.

As a result of their knowledge of the sector and with the experience of having undertaken before, in 2019 the brothers launched to create an all-in-one solution for restaurants. “We spent a year and a half developing our own technology that would integrate all the day-to-day procedures, from a point of sale terminal to an online store or a reservation system, with the idea that a restaurant can contract with us all the services they require in their day to day”, explains Éric Nikolic. As fate would have it, in between, they were surprised by the covid pandemic, a time that they took advantage of to dedicate themselves fully to the development of the tool.

Last.app has been operational since the beginning of 2021. Since then, the entrepreneurial brothers have attracted clients such as Miss Sushi, PadThaiWok, Gonzalo

To date, Last.app has raised more than 2.5 million euros in investment: the first 250,000 euros contributed mainly by a client in the most initial phase of the company and 2.2 million euros raised in an investment round at the beginning of 2022. This money has served, in part, for the company's workforce to grow to the current 40 employees. The number of workers has been increasing along with the activity of the company. "Of the 1,5000 euros of turnover with which we started at the beginning of 2021, we will end 2022 with more than half a million euros," says Éric Nikolic. The business model of this Barcelona-based startup consists of charging a monthly subscription to use the tool plus charging commissions for certain services.
