The Aemet confirms that good weather is coming after an Easter spent in water

Spain has been affected in recent days by adverse weather conditions, witnessing the passage of Storm Nelson, which has left a trail of rainfall and strong winds. However, the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) has predicted relevant changes for this week.

Starting Monday, a gradual improvement in the weather is expected thanks to the entry of a subtropical ridge, although the approach of a new front is announced that will bring clouds and rain, mainly in the northwest of the country.

This Monday will be characterized by a morning with slightly cloudy skies on the Atlantic slope, including some light showers, especially in Galicia, where more intense rainfall could be recorded. Throughout the day, cloud cover is expected to decrease, allowing the sun to appear in several areas. The Mediterranean regions will enjoy partly cloudy skies, while similar conditions are expected in the Canary Islands, with possible light showers in high areas.

As for temperatures, an increase in maximum temperatures is expected in most of the country, except for some areas where they will remain stable or experience a slight decrease. Light frosts will occur in the mountains, especially in the Pyrenees, where they could be more severe. The winds, for their part, will be generally light to moderate, with some strong gusts in specific areas such as Galicia and the western Cantabrian Sea.

The arrival of a new Atlantic front on Tuesday will change the panorama again, bringing overcast skies and moderate rainfall to Galicia, which could intensify in some regions. These conditions will extend to other areas of the Peninsula, although with less probability to the south and east. Maximum temperatures will continue to rise in most areas, while minimum temperatures will rise in Galicia. The frost will continue in the mountains.

Looking ahead to Wednesday, a more stable day is expected thanks to the positive influence of the subtropical ridge over Spain, although the presence of clouds and possible rain in the northwest has not been ruled out. The Atlantic side will dawn with abundant cloudiness, while in the Mediterranean there will be clear skies. Temperatures will continue their upward trend, with a predominance of winds from the west and south, which will mainly affect the northern third of the peninsula.
