El Internado was a Spanish television series produced by Globomedia for Antena 3. The fiction was broadcast from May 2007 to October 13, 2010 and a total of 7 seasons and 71 episodes were recorded.
The project became a phenomenon in our country, achieving large audiences and incredible recognition from critics and fans. After a decade, it was announced that there would be a reboot of the series, El Internado las cumbres, which can be seen on Amazon Prime Video.
The series had an exceptional cast: Luis Merlo, Martiño Rivas, Elena Furiase, Blanca Suárez, Daniel Retuerta, Yon González, Natalia Millán, Ana de Armas, Marta Hazas and Marta Torné, among others.
This week, one of the protagonists of the fiction, Daniel Retuerta, went to the Animales Humanos podcast to talk about his career and how his participation in successful series such as Compañeros or El Internado (where he played Roque) changed his life.
The young man explained that, despite the fact that he has much to thank for his character in the Antena 3 mystery series, its fans still do not distinguish between reality and fiction, for which reason he has received a lot of hate for the actions he Roque carried out on the small screen: "You have to kill someone in the series, and what happens to me in life is that people interact as if they were interacting with a reality show."
The young artist shared on the radio that many followers of the youth series still cannot get over the death of Ana de Armas in fiction and that they blame him for the event eleven years later, even though he had nothing to do with the script or with plot decisions.
The young man explained in the podcast that he participated in Compañeros and later in El Internado, but that he had saved everything he had earned, since he lived with his parents and did not need to use that money.
''It's been 12 years without touching anything, because my parents have fed me, they have given me clothes, they have taken me to school and they have not touched anything. If I have been working 9 months a year for 12 years ... of course I make 300,000 euros '', she explained, clearing up doubts about his cache at that time.
