Terrassa, as Vicenç Villatoro's book, La ciutat del fum, says very well, was this in the past, with the textile industry, but now it demands healthy air and sustainable mobility with bicycle lanes and fewer cars in the city, as it symbolizes. this series of photographs in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.

Terrassa is part of the Network of Cities for Bicycles, which brings together local entities with the aim of "generating a dynamic between Spanish cities to facilitate, make safer and develop the circulation of cyclists, especially in urban areas."

As the City Council recalls, the bicycle "is given the status of priority vehicle on the road with respect to other vehicles."

The council highlights "the obligation of drivers of motor vehicles to adapt their speed to that of bicycles, not to overtake them in the same traffic lane and to avoid any harassment", for which the city was provided with a ordinance that "contributes to creating the conditions so that the entire street network of Terrassa becomes a true pedalable network, which facilitates cycling."

The city of Terrassa inaugurated the Plaza de la Bicicleta on March 28, 2015 (roundabout at the intersection of Paseo de las Letras with Paseo 22 de Julio). And since September 16, 2016 it has a monument dedicated to the bicycle.
