Streamer war between Kick and Twitch: million dollar contracts

Kick is going all out. The Australian live streaming platform wants to surpass Twitch. To do so, it is going to offer 100 million-dollar contracts to content creators with a medium-sized community of followers, neither too large nor too small. This is yet another step in an aggressive talent recruitment strategy that began last June with the signing of star Twitch streamer xQc, who was offered a staggering $100 million to switch sides.

The recruitment campaign does not end here, because there is also room for streamers with a smaller community of followers. Ed Craven, director of the platform, confirmed in an interview for The Gamer Update that they are willing to offer 1,000 contracts of $100,000 for them.

Craven confirmed these offers on his Twitter account. He explains that they are part of "a creator incentive program designed to ensure that anyone can get paid fairly for quality streams."

The signing of big names in the sector such as xQc, Amouranth and Destiny were the previous step of this offer of massive contracts that Craven announced. Whaling came as a claim to facilitate this exponential growth of streamers on the Australian platform, as explained by the same manager in the aforementioned interview.

Along the same lines, he spoke on his Twitter account, stating that “the best days of live streaming are yet to come. The biggest live content is yet to be produced. The best streamers have yet to make their first stream.” He ended the message by assuring that they have "incredible" plans and that "Kick hopes to lead the way into the next era of transmission."

Unlike Twitch, Kick has a more beneficial payment policy for its creators, since they receive a higher proportion for each piece of content (95/5). This distribution contrasts with that of the American platform owned by Amazon, which recently increased the profit distribution of 70/30 again, after the discomfort generated by the reduction to 50/50.

In addition, it should also be remembered that the Australian platform, unlike its rivals, allows you to promote bets or erotic content. So together with the attractive contracts they offer, the sharing of benefits, many content creators have already considered migrating to this new tool created by the online gaming giant, Stake.com. Now we only need to know Kick's signings in this campaign.
