More than 200 artists from around the world have signed a manifesto against the "irresponsible and predatory" use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in music. In it, there are some names such as Stevie Wonder, Katy Perry, Billie Eilish, Imagine Dragons, Juanes, Raphael, Manuel Carrasco or Lola Índigo.

In the statement, which the Artist Rights Alliance has spread on social networks, the signatories have asked technology companies to stop using AI. "This assault on human creativity must be stopped. We must protect against the predatory use of AI to steal the voice and image of professional artists, as well as violate creators' rights and destroy the music ecosystem."

Likewise, the artists make a "call to all AI developers." In the letter they ask these companies to commit to not using this tool to "undermine" or replace "the human art of composers and artists."

In addition, they also request that they be denied "fair compensation for our work." "When used irresponsibly, AI poses enormous threats to our ability to protect our privacy, our identities, our music and our lives," they said.

On the other hand, the statement ensures that "some of the largest and most powerful companies are using, without permission, our work as human artists." According to the signatories, they do this through "massive amounts of sounds and 'images' created by AI that substantially dilute the royalty funds paid to artists."

Other signatories who have also signed the statement are Camila Cabello, J Balvin, Bon Jovi, the Jonas Brothers, Luis Fonsi, Luz Casal, Nicki Minaj, Sam Smith and Zayn Malik, among others.
