Spaniard Topuria is proclaimed UFC featherweight world champion

The Hispanic-Georgian fighter Ilia Topuria has been proclaimed UFC world champion in the featherweight category after taking the title from the Australian Alexander Volkanovski thanks to a KO in the second round.

In the fight held at the Honda Center pavilion in the city of Anaheim (California, USA), 'el Matador' remained strategic and orderly in the first round but took advantage of a carelessness by 'The Great' in the second to take him to the bars and contact several direct ones that left him knocked out.

Topuria thus becomes the first Spanish representative to win a belt from what is considered the most important mixed martial arts (MMA) franchise worldwide.
