Sopa de Cabra ends the 30-year tour of 'Ben endins' at the Palau Sant Jordi

Although the news is well known, the growing expectation has framed it in recent days: the group Sopa de Cabra closes today at the Palau Sant Jordi in Barcelona the 30th anniversary tour of the Ben Endins album.

At the appointment, included in the Cruïlla de Tardor programme, one of the references of that Catalan rock will make an exhaustive emptying of that album. La Vanguardia subscribers have a 20% discount on the price of tickets, provided they are purchased at Entradas de Vanguardia.

It should not be forgotten that the honored work is the best-selling pop-rock album in Catalan, winner of a triple Platinum Record thanks to the 130,000 copies sold.

The tour started when a couple of seasons ago, Gerard Quintana, Josep Thió and company realized that the pandemic was putting an end to the promotion of their then brand new album La gran onada.

And one of the alternatives to deal with the break was precisely to go on stage to commemorate that anniversary of one of his most referential works.

The Catalan band recorded their first live album on February 21 and 22, 1991 at the Zeleste Barcelona venue, which would come out as a double album released by Salseta Discos. Yesterday, Friday, the aforementioned record company released a double CD and triple vinyl reissue remastered by Jordi Solé and with a plus of six unpublished songs taken from that concert.

Songs that have become anthems such as El boig de la ciutat, Mai toboi or L'Empordà will be played tonight in an evening that is expected to be extended since the Sopa wanted to surround themselves with a large group of colleagues from the Catalan music scene, giving place to a lucky from dream team: Alfred García, Búhos, David Carabén (leader of the Mishima), Els Amics de les Arts, Els Catarres, Ginestà, Intana, Joan Dausà, Judit Neddermann, Ramon Mirabet, Suu, The Tyets and Xarim Aresté.
