some come and some go

The amnesty remains stalled. The meeting held yesterday in Barcelona between leaders of the PSOE and Junts ended without an agreement. The Government once again made it clear that it is not going to reform the text on the amnesty that was rejected in Congress, and the representatives of Carles Puigdemont's party persisted in their opposite position if its conditions were not accepted. Everything seems to indicate that Junts will vote against again in the opinion that will be presented next Tuesday in committee. There will still be time for a change in his position, but the exit looks very complicated. The socialists are willing to propose other alternatives, but never to touch the law. It must be taken into account that Esquerra has also made it clear that they will not accept a change in the text already agreed upon, so the PSOE, in the hypothetical case that it agreed to touch on this proposal, would find that Junts could accept it. and the Republicans, no.

Will Carles Puigdemont be able to maintain his plan until the end and cause hundreds of people to be tried or fined in the multiple cases that remain open if there is no amnesty? The answer will surely not be known until mid-March, when the evolution of the non-law proposal reaches its final moment of whether it is approved or not.

If the front with Junts remains stagnant, the socialists, on the other hand, are advancing in negotiations with ERC both to close an agreement in Barcelona City Council and to approve the budgets of the Generalitat. Nothing is decided yet. For this reason, Mayor Jaume Collboni has hit the table and has presented his own for approval in committee, and if they are rejected, he will look for the formula of the motion of confidence that would guarantee having them approved a month later. The entry of ERC into the municipal government seems increasingly clear, if some reluctance within the Republican Party is overcome. In turn, Salvador Illa is approaching positions with Pere Aragonès to close the Government's accounts. It seems clear that, for the socialists, some (ERC) are approaching and others (Junts) are leaving.
