Six people arrested for attacking two women after chasing them by car through Petrel

Agents of the National Police attached to the Investigation Group of the Elda-Petrel Police Station have arrested six people who attacked two women after leading a chase aboard their vehicles.

The detainees are four men and two women of Spanish nationality and ages between 19 and 25, the National Police has reported.

According to the police report, there was a physical attack and serious threats by a group of six people to a woman outside a nightclub located in the leisure area of a Petrel industrial estate in the early hours of the morning.

The victim was helped by a friend who tried to help her, although given the nature of the events and in view of the aggressiveness shown by the perpetrators, they had no choice but to take refuge in one of their vehicles.

The aggression, far from ceasing, worsened in the violence used by these individuals, who hit the body of the car and even broke one of the windows with the intention of continuing to intimidate the two occupants of the vehicle until the victims finally stopped. They started the engine and fled the scene.

The attackers got into their vehicle and began a dangerous and reckless chase after their victims, endangering not only them, but other vehicles and pedestrians who were traveling on public roads at that time.

During the chase, they rammed the vehicle of their pursued people up to four times in order to get them off the road and they spent at least ten minutes on various streets in the town of Petrel.

The young victims made a call to the emergency number 112 to report the event and due to one last collision they ended up colliding with the basement of a building.

The alleged attackers ended up forcibly pulling one of the victims out of the window and then attacking her with kicks and blows and only stopped their behavior when they learned that the police services had been alerted.

The agents began to carry out the necessary investigations to fully clarify the facts and find out the identities of the perpetrators, who had no connection with the victims, which made the work difficult.

Finally, the investigators identified the perpetrators of such conduct and six arrests were made, five of them in the town of Elda and another in the town of Sax.

The attacked finally suffered minor injuries and the vehicles used were completely damaged as a result of the events that occurred.

According to the statements of both parties, the origin of the events came from the request of some of the aggressors that the victims take them in the vehicle to a specific place and the disagreement after they refused.

The main defendants were placed at the disposal of the Investigating Court acting as guard of Elda.
