This Wednesday, the Mossos d'Esquadra arrested another seven men between the ages of 18 and 44, who join the six arrested on November 2 as alleged perpetrators of the altercations that occurred on May 14 at the RCDE Stadium in Cornellà. de Llobregat, when a group of Espanyol fans jumped onto the grass to prevent the FC Barcelona players from celebrating the league title at the end of the derby.
The arrests, carried out by agents of the General Information Commissariat, have been carried out in Barcelona (3), Pineda de Mar, Sant Boi de Llobregat, Sant Feliu de Llobregat and Solsona (Lleida).
The incidents took place in the match between Espanyol and Barça, corresponding to the 34th matchday of the League, which was attended by more than 27,000 spectators, and which was held at the blue and white team's stadium, in Cornellà de Llobregat (Barcelona). This completes the second phase of the investigation into these events, as announced by the police force, although new actions are not ruled out. None of the seven have a record of crimes related to violence in sports nor are they members of ultra cheer groups.
The invasion was carried out by about a hundred fans who came specifically from the Cornellà goal, where the local team's cheer stands are located, causing various damages to the facilities and confronting the security guards and throwing objects.
The intervention of the Mossos and the private security guards prevented the fans from attacking the Blaugrana players, who ran towards the locker room tunnel, and prevented any of them from accessing this area.
