Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher end their marriage after 13 years together and three children

Actress Isla Fisher, known for the films Scooby-Doo and The Great Gatsby, and actor Sacha Baron Cohen, who became popular for the character of Borat, have decided to put an end to their relationship after sharing 13 years of marriage. The couple, who have three children together, have spread the confirmation of their divorce through their social networks after months of rumors.

The Hollywood couple has also confessed that the divorce process has already begun in 2023, but that they have preferred to keep it secret for privacy reasons. Both have assured that they maintain a good relationship for the sake of their children, who have always been their priority.

“After a long tennis match of more than twenty years, we finally put down the rackets. In 2023 we jointly present the request to end our marriage,” this is how they began their statement accompanied by an image in which both appear dressed as tennis players.

Privacy has always marked the acting couple, which is why they decided not to make their separation public until now: “We have always prioritized our privacy, and we have been working silently on this change.”

In addition, they wanted to highlight the unconditional love that both have for their children: “We forever share our devotion and love for our children. "We sincerely appreciate that you respect our family's desire for privacy."

The actors met in 2001 after attending a party in Sydney (Australia) where they met before making themselves known on the big screen. “We were at a very ostentatious party and she and I got along by making fun of others,” the actor said in an interview while he remembered that night. According to Sacha, theirs was love at first sight: “I knew it instantly. I don't know if she does too. She was hilarious.”

The actress of The Great Gatsby and the winner of two Golden Globes have always maintained a relationship based on privacy and have never wanted to give statements about the state of their marriage. However, both assure that the key that unites them is their “ability to find humor in the harshness of life.”

After almost three years of dating, they decided to get engaged in 2004 after Isla's conversion to Judaism, a religion that Sacha practices.

Despite her proposal, the marriage did not take place until 2010, when they celebrated a secret wedding in Paris attended only by their closest family and friends.

The couple was able to go unnoticed during their stay in the French capital thanks to Sacha's father pretending to be a well-known chef who was celebrating his 70th birthday.

In October 2007, the couple already welcomed their first daughter, Olive, and it was after their wedding in 2010 that their second daughter, Elula, came into their lives. Their last child arrived five years later, in 2015. During the pandemic, the family decided to move to Australia.

However, in 2022 the actors chose to return to the United States to have greater access to major productions, and also to be able to combine their careers with caring for their children.
