Russia accuses Ukraine of attacking the Crimean Navy headquarters with a drone

Russia accused Ukraine on Sunday of attacking the Russian Black Sea Fleet headquarters in Sevastopol, Crimea Peninsula, with a drone, an incident that left six injured, although kyiv immediately denied any involvement in the incident.

"Two of the wounded are moderately serious, the rest are light. They are being treated. In total, there are six wounded," explained Mijaíl Razvozhaev, governor of Sevastopol, on his Telegram channel.

The injuries occurred in the courtyard of the barracks, where the unmanned device fell on Sunday morning, which would carry a homemade explosive device.

"Early this morning the Ukrainian Nazis decided to spoil the Day of the Navy for us," he denounced.

For this reason, all the festive events have been cancelled, although last night it was already reported that for security reasons the traditional naval parade would not be held in the port of Crimea, a peninsula annexed by Russia in 2014. "I ask you to remain calm and stay at home," the governor added.

The Ukrainian authorities almost immediately denied reports of an "alleged Ukrainian attack" and spoke of a "provocation."

"The liberation of our Crimea from the occupiers will not take place in this way but much more effectively. Everything has its time," Odessa Regional Military Administration spokesman Serhiy Bratchuk said in a Telegram message.

Russian President Vladimir Putin presides today, Sunday, in St. Petersburg and the island of Kronstadt (Gulf of Finland) on Army Day.

At the end of the naval parade, the head of the Kremlin will approve the new naval doctrine, which has been modified in view of the geopolitical changes caused by the Russian military campaign in Ukraine.

According to the Kremlin, more than 40 ships, submarines and boats, 42 planes and more than 3,500 soldiers will participate in the naval parade.

Since the beginning of the military intervention in the neighboring country, the Russian fleet has played an active role in attacking Ukrainian territory with missiles.
