Rodrygo denounces racist insults after Brazil-Argentina: “We are not going to stop”

“We are not going to stop!" With this forceful phrase, Rodrygo has shown his awareness in the fight against racism. The footballer suffered racist comments on his social networks, after playing in the tense Brazil-Argentina this Wednesday. The striker was seen involved in a small argument with De Paul and Leo Messi during the match and this fact would have triggered the unfortunate reactions against the Rio player from some fans.

Rodrygo shared a post on Instagram this Thursday in which he denounces “all kinds of nonsense” and “insults” received, as a result of the outcome of the qualifying match played in Maracaná. In it, incidents occurred in the stands where the police beat several Argentine fans before the match began, while the footballers were on the field of play.

The Madrid striker left the following message on his social networks, explaining the racist comments received:

"Racists are always on duty. My social media has been invaded with insults and all kinds of nonsense. It's here for everyone to see!

If we don't do what they want, if we don't behave the way they think we should, if we wear something that bothers them, if we don't bow our heads when they attack us, if we occupy spaces they think are theirs, the racists will take action with his criminal conduct.

"Tough luck for them, we're not going to stop!"

The publication of the merengue '11' received several signs of support, especially from his teammates and national team. Lucas Vázquez, Vinícius and Éder Militao were some of the players who encouraged the Brazilian striker. "We are not going to stop! We are with you in this fight, brother,” the Real Madrid center-back posted in response to Rodrygo's post.

Rodrygo Goes' father, Enric Goes, published three stories last night to defend his son on Instagram. In one of them, he shared a news story from 'Globoesporte' that deals with racist insults towards Rodrygo: “Really, is anyone surprised?” He wrote in another of his limited-time publications.

In addition, he also added images of the discussion that Messi and Rodrygo had during Brazil-Argentina, referring to the Argentine star as "the saint who doesn't get into trouble with anyone."
