Rocío Carrasco's sentence confirmed for non-payment of her son David Flores' pension

More than two years have passed since Rocío Carrasco raised her voice in her own documentary series, and her words continue to resonate in part of society. So much so, that just a month ago Rocío Jurado's daughter starred in an advertisement against gender violence in a campaign developed by the autonomous city of Melilla.

And it is not the only project that the television collaborator has on her hands. After her veto on Telecinco, Carrasco made the jump to RTVE, appearing in several programs and interviews. She but she has already been confirmed as one of the contestants of the new baking reality show Celebrity Bake Off. However, it's not all good news for her.

Although the result could already be expected, it is not surprising that Rocío Carrasco harbored a small hope of achieving something more positive. The Provincial Court of Madrid, specifically the Sixth Section, has confirmed the conviction of the collaborator for non-payment of the pension of her son David Flores. And she had to pay 200 euros from January 2018, something she did not do so that it would not end up in the hands of Antonio David Flores.

With this, Pedro Carrasco's daughter must pay compensation of 13,200 euros, to which another 900 euros in fines are added, as reported by El Periódico. A not inconsiderable figure, but one that surely does not represent any problem for the Madrid woman, beyond the symbolism.

The television personality has been fighting this litigation for five years, which began when she was denounced for an alleged crime of family abandonment. In July 2023, the Criminal Judge, Juan Antonio Toro, was clear: "I must and do condemn Rocío Carrasco Mohedano as the author responsible for a crime of non-payment of pensions."

After this, Rocío Carrasco did not hesitate to allege violation of effective judicial protection and the right to defense after being denied several pieces of evidence that, for her, were decisive. More specific were the procedures for the benefit that her son had due to disability. Something that the judge saw as unnecessary.

One of the reasons that Rocío Carrasco's defense alleged for not paying the pension was that she could not do so because her accounts had been seized by the Tax Agency. Something that the judge rejected because the collaborator "had sufficient assets to pay alimony" for her son.

This type of crime carries a possible prison sentence for the accused. However, it was David Flores himself who did not want to come to that and renounced the request for prison, as reported by Europa Press. Now, Carrasco can only appeal to the Supreme Court, his last hope.
