Rihanna comes out of retirement to give her first concert in 8 years to the richest man in India

The Ambani family prenuptial celebration in Gujarat, India, was the setting chosen by Rihanna for her first full concert in eight years. The Barbadian star, wearing a stunning green dress and ornate jewellery, gave guests a memorable performance, performing some of her biggest hits and sharing the stage with a talented team of dancers.

This concert represents a true milestone in Rihanna's career, as it is her first full performance since her performance at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show, where she announced her second pregnancy. Rihanna's last full concert was at the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2016.

The concert was held as part of the celebrations prior to the wedding of Anant Ambani, youngest son of tycoon Mukesh Ambani, with businesswoman Radhika Merchant. "In honor of Anant and Radhika, thank you for having me here. God bless your union. I wish you the best. Congratulations!" the Grammy winner said during her performance. According to the TMZ portal, she would have earned around 9 million dollars for singing 19 songs.

News of her performance in India spread quickly, especially through X, where lucky attendees shared clips of her performance, which included such popular songs as Stay, Umbrella and Consideration. This concert also integrated elements of her Super Bowl performance, including some of the choreography designed by Parris Goebel.

Not everyone liked the fragments of Rihanna's concert. Some users have criticized the Barbadian singer for considering that she was not working hard. In this sense, they have wondered if Rihanna always puts the same little energy into all of her performances. Others have assured that it is clear that the artist has not acted for a long time.

Mukesh Ambani, ranked as the tenth richest man in the world and president of Reliance Industries, the most valuable company in India, has been known for organizing lavish events for his children's wedding celebrations. Previously, stars such as Beyoncé, Coldplay's Chris Martin and The Chainsmokers have performed at these lavish events, demonstrating the level of splendor that the Ambani family seeks for their celebrations.
