Public companies, Ferrovial, Thales and Volkswagen are some of the entities that lead the receipt of European Next Generation funds, according to the list published this afternoon by the Ministry of Economy, headed by Nadia Calviño. Of the private companies, the construction company Ferrovial - owned by the Del Pino family - stands out, which has received some 125 million euros through various projects. It so happens that Ferrovial moved its headquarters from Spain to Holland this year.

Another of the private companies that has obtained the most resources is the French company Thales, with close to 120 million. The battery factory that Volkswagen will install in Sagunto has obtained almost 98 million.

The list includes the 100 largest recipients of European funds who have received a total of around 5.1 billion euros, around 14% of the total obtained. for Spain.

Forty private companies are on the list of the 100 largest recipients of funds. These are data corresponding to October 20 of the comprehensive system for monitoring and managing the milestones and objectives of the Plan.

Ferrovial and Thales appear on the list of the 50 main winners of the works and services financed with the Next Generation EU, which group together an amount equivalent to 50% of the investments in the list of the 100 largest recipients of funds.

In a statement the ministry explains that "In the field of sustainable mobility, the State's investment of nearly 2,500 million allocated to ADIF for the modernization of conventional and high-speed railway infrastructure stands out; the more than 400 million euros received by 30 City Councils for urban mobility projects and creation of low-emission zones, among others; and the investments received by the companies that participate in the strategic project of the Electric and Connected Vehicle (PERTE VEC) for the modernization of the value chain of the automotive sector". In the same note it is added that "70% of Spanish municipalities have received funds from the Recovery Plan."
