The Government has initiated the process to declare the old palace of Ca l'Ardiaca de Tarragona a Cultural Property of National Interest.
The Department of Culture has opened the file in the category of Historical Monument, after the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage issued the favorable report on its initiation on September 19 of this year.
The resolution was published this Monday in the Official Gazette of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
The opening of the file entails the suspension of the processing of subdivision, building or demolition licenses in the affected area, as well as the suspension of the effects of the licenses already granted.
However, the Department of Culture can authorize works that do not harm the cultural values of the property. According to the resolution, this authorization must be prior to the granting of the municipal license, except in the case of licenses granted before this publication.
