PP and PSOE face the investiture between calls to “reflect” and “transfuguism”

The general secretary of the PP and spokesperson in Congress, Cuca Gamarra, highlighted this Saturday that next week the vote on the investiture of the party leader, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, will take place, so "there is still time for the PSOE to carry carry out an internal debate, if Pedro Sánchez allows it.

This was indicated in statements to the media after the opening session of the XII Plenary Session of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP) when asked if they contemplate achieving the four votes that the PP is missing in the ranks of the PSOE.

Gamarra stressed that the “big problem” of the PSOE is that it is “submitted” to Sánchez and he “imposes a series of issues that seem to be immovable.” However, he considered that “nothing is set in stone” and “they can still reflect” on whether “they are willing to deliver what Puigdemont and Junqueras are asking of them,” which is “equality among Spaniards” and say that “democracy did not exist.” , it has not worked all this time and it did not work when a coup d'état was attempted in 2017.”

“I believe that the PSOE should reconsider and should think about whether it is worth crossing that line that they are willing to cross. There are many voices within that in recent weeks are taking a stand and raising their voices. They can also do it internally in the PSOE and prevent them from taking that step that they will undoubtedly regret,” he noted.

But the call for internal rebellion of the PP has had a resounding response from the socialists. The Government spokesperson and acting Minister of Territorial Policy, Isabel Rodríguez, has demanded that Feijóo cease his "calls for corruption and transfuguism" in reference to the possible vote of socialist turncoats.

Also in statements after the FEMP plenary session, the spokesperson criticized that Feijóo has shown himself to be "incapable" of offering anything to Spain or of offering a Government program and that the only thing he is offering is an opposition program and "unfortunately I have What can we say about the worst opposition, because their aspirations for this investiture have been reduced to calling on Tamayazo [...] a fact classified as corruption," he insisted.

Also the second vice president of the Government and leader of Sumar, Yolana Díaz, has been very critical of Feijóo's attitude, reproaching them for “wasting our time” and accusing him of perpetrating “constitutional fraud with article 99.” Díaz disgraced the PP leader that he had “lied to the citizens” because he “wanted a lot of time because he needed to talk to all the political parties and he himself got into their trap.” He “he wanted to talk to the presidents of the autonomous communities, but he didn't even do that.” “He lies to himself,” he deplored.

Gamarra has also referred to the event that the PP will hold this Sunday in Madrid to protest the amnesty. In his opinion, it is “an important day for all of us who defend the dignity of our country” and for those who “do not resign ourselves and who rebel when we hear that an amnesty is being advanced.”

In addition, he indicated that it is a “very important” week due to Feijóo's investiture debate. “Without a doubt we are missing four votes, but we have plenty of reasons to govern Spain,” Gamarra stressed, claiming that with Feijóo, everyone would be “clear” that “there are things that are not negotiated with and things that are never delivered.” . “Neither the amnesty, nor the self-determination referendum, nor equality among all Spaniards, nor the financing, which must be equal for all, can be delivered,” he indicated.

The leader of the PP invited all those who "do not want a Spain where they have legal privileges" to join tomorrow's event and those who believe that "it is one thing to preside over the government of our country and another thing is quite another to reach the power at any price.” “There is an alternative or Feijóo or Amnesty,” she exclaimed, asking that “we raise our voices, rebel and take a step forward.”
