The lifeless bodies of three girls under the age of 5, 10 and 11 were found this Sunday in a home in Alfortville, on the outskirts of Paris, hours after their father went to a police station in Normandy to confess to the crime.
The alleged perpetrator of this multiple homicide is called Younes, a 41-year-old man born in Morocco who had already been convicted of marital violence and violence against minors, but who was dismissed for “insufficiently characterized crime” in July 2021. Despite the dismissal, a protective restraining order was applied that the victims' father would have broken to perpetrate the triple murder.
The agents went to the family home where, after forcing the door to enter, they discovered the bodies of the three minors stabbed to death, reports Le Parisien. The investigators and forensic experts detected signs of cruelty on the bodies of the two youngest girls due to the multiple mutilations and the number of stab wounds they showed. The oldest, according to the first forensic reports, would have died of strangulation. The three minors were found in the home, one on the sofa and the other two lying on the floor under a blanket.
The authorities have opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the drama that has shocked the city, while the Alfortville city council opens a crisis unit to deal with this tragedy.
The mother of the victims lives in the town of Marolles-en-Brie, where the girls lived with their mother, less than 20 kilometers from the scene of the events. Neighbors and people close to the family say they are shocked by the terrible situation.
"I saw the girls again last week, one afternoon, when I was coming home from work. I can't believe they are dead," says a nearby neighbor disconsolately. Furthermore, a source close to the investigation assures that the self-confessed perpetrator of the crime could have committed such acts because he “was trying to return to the mother of his daughters.”
