Podemos takes to the Police the emptying of Sumar's offices that no longer belong to him

The difficult coexistence between Podemos and Sumar did not end with the officialization of the divorce at the end of 2023 and the latest known episode today increases the level of confrontation over the use of the spaces of the deputies in Congress after the purple party's complaint of having been victim of a "forced entry into his premises."

In that sense, Ione Belarra's party, without pointing out anyone as guilty, has asked Francina Armengol, socialist president of the Congress of Deputies, for protection, while at the same time informing the National Police of the irregular access to the office of its members. deputies in the Lower House.

Podemos has also denounced that "the belongings of its parliamentarians (work documents, computer devices, personal objects, etc.) have been removed from their personal work spaces and deposited in a passage area of the Chamber." Some work spaces that, after their integration into the mixed group, would correspond exclusively to Sumar. "It's normal," say sources from the space directed by Yolanda Díaz. "Since November they have had enough time to move from the fourth floor," they said.

The purple party, however, maintains that it has not received "any notification referring to the offices of its deputies", which is why it rejects the explanations that may be given from Sumar and considers these events to be of the utmost seriousness and hopes that the Presidency of The Chamber acts to find those responsible and guarantee the rights of the deputies, as well as for the Police to clarify the facts in case they constitute a crime.

The fictitious wall existing between the two parties was not such physically as they were sharing work space. A situation that both parties recognize as "uncomfortable" to the point that some work meetings that could well have been held on that floor were moved to other rooms in Congress to avoid "indiscreet glances."
