Free way for Paris Saint-Germain to announce their new coach. Mauricio Pochettino is already past in the French club after both parties have reached an agreement for the termination of the Argentine contract after two weeks of negotiations.
According to the French newspaper L'Équipe, the compensation for not respecting the current contract will be 10 million euros for Pochettino, far from the 15 that he originally claimed for himself and his coaching staff. The end of these discussions will officially open the door to the arrival of the ex-Nice player, Christophe Galtier, to train the main French team.
The agreement between PSG and Pochettino united them until June 2023, so both parties had to find a common point. The Parisian leaders have pressed in the negotiations to reduce the compensation established for the departure of the coach, who for his part has seen no reason to do the club a favor that asked him to leave on June 10.
According to L'Équipe, the intermediate point has been an envelope with 10 million euros for the coach and his team, to cover the salaries corresponding to the 2022-2023 season. The newspaper assures that the agreement was already signed this Thursday.
A negotiation that opens the door to the arrival of Galtier from Nice, after both teams signed an 8 million euro pact last week to advance the departure of the coach from the southern club to join PSG for at least two years.
Pochettino's departure from important positions is not the only one at the Parisian club. Starting next year, Leonardo, until now the sports director, will not be there either. His place will be occupied by the Portuguese Luis Campos.
