Partial closure of the Coliseum due to racist insults to Acuña and Sánchez Flores

Partial closure of the Coliseum due to racist insults to Acuña and Sánchez Flores

The RFEF Competition Committee has decided to partially close Getafe's stadium, the Coliseum, for three games due to racist insults from local fans towards Sevilla's Argentine player Marcos Acuña and the coach of the Sevilla team, Quique Sánchez Flores. .

Competition also sanctions the Madrid club with a fine of 27,000 euros for those same incidents that occurred last Saturday in Getafe-Sevilla. In its resolution, the committee refers to article 69.2.d where violent, racist, xenophobic and intolerant acts and behavior in football are analyzed.

A part of the stands sang “Acuña mono” and “Acuña, come from the mono” directed at the defender, world champion. While the Madrid coach, who has also led Getafe in 119 games in three stages, was insulted because of his gypsy origin.

In the match, the anti-racism protocol was applied in the 68th minute after the insults were uttered.

As confirmed by the RFEF, the sanction in application of article 51.7 of the RFEF Disciplinary Code for the commission of very serious infractions classified in articles 69.1.c), 69.2.d) and 76.2, sections b) and d).
