The NGO Clowns Without Borders (PSF) celebrates 30 years of history with Laughter and emotions. The journeys of Clowns Without Borders (Comanegra), a choral diary that collects first-person reflections, experiences and photographs of artists who have been part of expeditions in vulnerable corners of the world.
The book, which will be on the streets starting on the 28th in both Spanish and Catalan, contains testimonies from 2,000 clowns who have traveled to more than 100 countries and 500 international expeditions to "bring laughter and smiles" to disadvantaged and displaced children, has commented in the presentation by Pep Callau, member of the PSF board of directors.
Jaume Mateu, founder of PSF and better known as Tortell Poltrona, has mentioned that in his first expeditions "it was more difficult to have photos", but, with the arrival of digitalization, shortly after it was possible to obtain images, which now materialize with this book. these "altruistic trips".
The intention of the work is to pay tribute to all those who have participated in this global project and vindicate their work, which reflects "30 years of hundreds of stories and professional rigor," added Callau. In addition to showing the experiences and reflections of the clowns and collaborating artists, the socio-political and religious realities of areas such as the Middle East, Africa or the Balkans, among others, are also shown.
Both Callau, Montserrat and Tortell Poltrona have shared that these trips have improved their "reaction capacity" and "learning speed", since the audience is not the same everywhere and there are shows that work better than others.
The three members of PSF have agreed that these expeditions have helped them "learn to value what we have", not only because they are faced with "real problems", but also when they return home and see the contrast of realities. .
This international work also serves to show "female references" in a profession that in certain places is unknown to the little ones and that offers a broader vision to girls of the existence of other "non-traditional professional careers," added Montserrat.
From Editorial Comanegra, Jordi Puig has expressed that this project has been a challenge of "enormous complexity", due to the large number of authors, texts and photographs, but that it has resulted in a collective book of great "testimonial value". . For this initiative, 10,258 euros were raised through 238 solidarity microfinances organized by the association itself.
For its part, Tortell Poltrona has taken the opportunity to comment that Morocco, Colombia, Mexico and Azerbaijan are some of the countries they have in mind for their future expeditions.
