The photograph shows two toilets spraying a naked woman with a pressure hose in the parking lot of an apartment building on Markopoulo beach in the municipality of Oropo, in the Attica region of Greece.
Greek media point out that the woman is 69 years old and suffers from psychiatric problems. In the scene, the woman is completely naked, lying on a blanket, while the two toilets, claiming to want to "disinfect" her, spray her with water in the dead of winter. The events took place on February 28.
The mayor of the town, Yorgos Yasimákis, mayor of Oropó, regretted what happened in the "sad event" perpetrated by the "crew of the municipal ambulance owned by the company with which the municipality has a contract."
"As a human being I strongly condemn the unacceptable incident and feel ashamed," he said.
