Opposition and unions charge against the Government for the "chaos" of the oppositions on Saturday

The oppositions that took place yesterday Saturday for interim workers of the Generalitat to become civil servants have become a new problem for the Government of Pere Aragonès. The participants in the process, which was carried out by an external company, and the unions denounced that there was "chaos", "mess" and "irregularities", and the opposition has already demanded that Minister Laura Vilagrà give explanations at headquarters parliamentary

Both Junts per Catalunya and PSC have formulated the request this Sunday and the head of the Department of the Presidency, which is assigned the powers related to the public function, has announced shortly after that she herself will register a request to appear, a usual procedure in these cases.

Following the complaints from the unions, the Generalitat has designated the company contracted for the process –Cegos–, and after meeting with the organizations –IAC-CATAC, CCOO and UGT– has announced in a statement the appearance of Vilagrà while warning that the Catalan Executive will not assume the cost of the contract of the external company for "flagrant breaches". In addition, the Generalitat, which has set up a mailbox to receive complaints from participants in the process, also opens the door to repeating the exams "in the shortest possible time" if it is found that there were irregularities. "We will not assume the cost of this contract [1.4 million euros]", Vilagrà has remarked.

However, the explanations offered by the Executive have not convinced the opposition groups. Junts, in addition to requesting Vilagrà to appear, will register parliamentary questions to clarify what happened and assume responsibilities, and from the outset they criticize that from the Executive of Aragonès responsibilities are centrifuged in the contracted company. In the PSC they also label as "insufficient" what the Government has explained for now. The Socialists consider that the process took place in "terrible conditions" due to the "negligence of functions" of the Department of the Presidency commanded by Vilagrà.

For their part, the unions have demanded “urgent” solutions for the people affected and that there be “direct apologies” from the administration. CCOO demands that the repetition of the tests, if it takes place, be before the summer holidays and that the process not be outsourced again, in addition to sanctions for the concessionary company. IAC-CATAC also requests a possible repetition of the exams "the sooner the better".

The participants denounced that there were delays of up to six hours in the start of the tests, disorganization, overcrowding, lack of information and material, that tests were canceled and the anonymity of the opponents was violated. For all these reasons, Vilagrà has recognized "important anomalies" in the process and has pointed out that the test will probably have to be repeated in some cases, but not in those in which everything worked correctly and normally.

In any case, the exam will not be repeated with the same company. As indicated by the Ministry of the Presidency, it was decided to subcontract to an external company because many of those who took the exams on Saturday monitored processes of this type.

From the Government they admit that from the first hour there were incidents and pointed out that this circumstance is "very hard" for those who have been preparing for the exams for months. “They had been waiting for the exam for months and were very focused. It is not tolerable”, concluded Vilagrà.
