One person injured with a knife and one arrested after several brawls at the April Fair

Although official sources have assured that this Fair is taking place in a calmer manner, the truth is that brawls and confrontations continue to occur despite having reinforced security at the venue. There are fewer of them, as detailed by the National Police in a statement, but only in the early hours of this Wednesday several brawls that originated in the Real de la Feria ended with a stab wound and a detainee.

In one of these fights, a woman was injured and required an ambulance after being hit by a stone. In another notice, this time from the health workers, she was alerted of an attack with a knife on Chicuelo Street, according to sources from the 112 Emergency Service.

Most of the interventions in a brawl were due to fights between two drunk men, as the Police point out in a statement, in which they confirm that "an intervention did occur due to a fight between a group of people in which they intervened quickly and "a person accused of a crime of injuries was arrested."

In general, so far, the fair is being "much calmer than in previous editions, both in the number of brawls and the rest of the criminal acts," as stated by the Police.

The Seville City Council has spoken along the same lines, highlighting that the edition of this April Fair, "the most crowded", is also the "safest", "as shown by the numbers." This is what the delegate of Citizen Security, Ignacio Flores, has expressed in the balance that the City Council offers daily in the Municipal Booth. "The Police have informed us that both fights and pickpockets have been reduced by half compared to last year; all were quickly broken up, only one resulted in serious injuries."

Since the beginning of the special plan for the Fair, a total of 2,146 incidents have been managed from the Control Center. In that sense, 1,408 are counted, regarding the city device and 422 for the Fair. During Tuesday, 607 incidents were recorded (9.8% more than Sunday).

Likewise, 52 proceedings have been initiated for different issues: 25 for traffic accidents and 19 criminal infractions. Since the beginning of the special plan, 1,334 breathalyzer tests have been carried out, of which 15 were positive, and five activities have been inspected, while all suspensions from the previous day were lifted.
