The driver of a van died this Sunday afternoon when his vehicle crashed into the median of the C-16 highway, as it passed through Vacarisses (Barcelona).
The Catalan Traffic Service has reported that the accident took place after five in the afternoon at kilometer 34.8 of the aforementioned highway, in the direction of Barcelona, at which point traffic in the direction of the Catalan capital has been cut off .
The event took place when the van, for reasons that are now being investigated, collided with the median of the road, a crash as a result of which the driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, died.
Nine Mossos patrols, three units of the Generalitat Bombers and two ground units and a helicopter from the Medical Emergency System (SEM) have traveled to the scene of the event.
With today's victim, there are 28 people who have died on the interurban roads of Catalonia so far this year.
