A man has died and a woman has been injured with serious burns, both elderly brothers, in the fire that broke out early this Sunday in a single-family home in Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona).
As reported by the Generalitat Fire Brigade, at 07:10 a.m. they received notice of this fire, which has affected the dining room of this single-family house on the ground floor located on Vendrell street in Vilanova i la Geltrú, in which the troops displaced to the place have found the two people affected.
The man had already died when the emergency services arrived while the woman, seriously injured, was immediately evacuated by toilets from the Emergency Medical System (SEM) to the Burn Unit of the Vall d'Hebron Hospital in Barcelona.
Twelve land crews have worked to extinguish the fire, which has already been completely extinguished.
