Castellón airport has two new routes with Berlin and Milan from this Sunday. Two new connections that, according to the president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, “consolidate the Castellón airport as a key infrastructure of the Community.”
The head of the Consell has highlighted that with these connections “we are closer to reaching half a million passengers this term”, while highlighting that “they open the door to new source markets such as northern Italy and the capital of Germany.” .
The head of the Consell has stated that the interest of the airlines in expanding their offer in the Valencian Community is “a clear indicator of how attractive we are and the quality of the product we offer” and has highlighted the elimination of the tourist tax in our territory “so that tourists do not think twice about coming to know the Valencian Community.”
Likewise, it has influenced the importance of the tourism sector to promote the economic and social development of the Community. For this reason, it has demanded the expansion of the airports of Alicante-Elche-Miguel Hernández, as well as that of Manises to "compete on equal terms with other autonomies and not slow down the tourist growth of our land."
The two new airlines from Castellón airport, operated by Ryanair and marking the beginning of the summer season, have two weekly frequencies throughout the summer season, which runs from the end of March to the end of October.
The president has expressed the commitment of the Generalitat to improving Castellón's air connectivity and to continuing to promote its airport in the main tourist markets for the Community.
In this sense, he has indicated that the London route doubles its flight offer in April and goes from two to four weekly frequencies. Also starting in April, the connection with Bucharest is reinforced, with a third weekly flight, and that with Rome is recovered. In addition, the flight offer will be expanded in June with the launch of the Porto and Bilbao routes and connections with Brussels, Düsseldorf and Madrid remain in force.
On the other hand, it is worth remembering that Aerocas has put out to tender a positioning campaign to capture a new national route in 2024 that must link with Seville, Asturias or Galicia. Likewise, the airport has awarded two new routes to Paris and Stuttgart, which will operate from 2026.
