New burst of life in the Sau swamp

As it rains and the level of the Sau reservoir recovers from the drought (it is already at 30%), the burst of animal and plant life in these days of transition from spring to summer becomes increasingly visible.

As can be seen in this series of photographs in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia, the progressive recovery of this natural environment can be seen both from the reservoir itself and from the observation points of the Tavertet cliffs.

In these photos we can see sheep clouds reflected in the Sau reservoir. After a long time the sky is reflected in the water, as the level rises.

And when there is no wind, the water remains like a mirror and the church of Sant Romà de Sau is reflected, accompanied by spring in its last days.

The beauty of this area of Les Guilleries, in Vilanova de Sau (Osona), is slowly being recovered. And most importantly, the water level is increasing.

The Sau reservoir looks prettier and more beautiful every day. In these photographs we can see some perspectives, as well as a sky of virgas (precipitation curtain that evaporates and disappears before reaching the ground).

The flowers and animals around the Sau reservoir are in full swing, especially birds and insects. The rains have awakened them.

From the cliffs of Tavertet you can see how the water has already reached the cemetery of the old town of Sau and how it has once again submerged the ruined houses that had been exposed by the drought.
