Network changes, historic bets, unlikely signings... the most notable fools of 2023

December 28th. An ordinary day for the majority of world citizens. However, in Spanish-speaking countries, it is one of the days in which you should be more cautious. What happens in Anglo-Saxon territories on April 1, today we have to endure in Spain and Latin America: the Holy Innocents. From early in the morning, thousands of out-of-place pieces of information take over portals and social networks, each one more implausible.

This is a double-edged day for the media, which can contribute their bit to the festivities and at the same time must avoid falling into possible hoaxes. Fortunately, some of these pieces of information are so obvious that they are immediately distinguishable. The jokes come from a multitude of fields, both sports and television, as well as other figures and personalities who try to get a few laughs on the designated date.

One of the first striking jokes of the day was published by El Televisero, reporting the return of Sálvame thanks to Televisión Española. As detailed on the Huffington Post television portal, the public entity had acquired the broadcast rights to the program thanks to an agreement with its creators, Adrián Madrid and Óscar Cornejo. An alleged personal bet by the director of general content, José Pablo López, who would seek to keep all of his collaborators.

Another joke news on television has been the alleged signing of Sonsoles Ónega for Espejo Público, in an exchange of presenters with Susanna Griso. The continuity of TardeAR has been questioned in recent weeks, and Mundo Deportivo took the opportunity to create some alleged statements in this regard: “They met me and told me that they wanted to offer me the mornings, since competing against Ana Rosa Quintana is too easy for me ”.

In the sporting field, Kylian Mbappé has been a protagonist in several instances, signing for both Futbol Club Barcelona and Real Club Deportivo Carabanchel. His endless saga with Real Madrid has led to this type of jokes throughout the morning in various media outlets. Another surprise “signing” has been the return of Joaquín at Betis, even local clubs such as the Catalan Vilanova CF have joined the party by announcing former Barça player Oleguer Presas.

The terrain of the four wheels has also been the protagonist, in particular with information related to Formula 1. According to the SoyMotor portal, the Barcelona City Council proposed the return of the legendary Montjuïc circuit to maintain the competition in the city, given the project from Madrid at IFEMA. Not accurate information that has raised more than one person from their seats, even theorizing that perhaps a project like this could work in other categories, such as the electric Formula E.

Music also does not escape being the protagonist of this day. Despite the possibilities that can be proposed in this sense, the most typical jokes are the ones that work the most. This is the case of Xuso Jones, who for the eighth consecutive year has deceived his followers and even members of his family, making them believe that he had fathered him. His Instagram stories have been filled with explanations and even a compilation of the previous seven years.

Similarly, the singer Chayanne has also been involved in an innocent story that is easy to decipher. Ramen Para Dos, a portal specialized in manga and anime news, has revealed that all Japanese animated productions should receive the Puerto Rican approval starting in 2024. “Some of the most iconic anime intros fit perfectly with a song: Bullfighter from Chayanne,” expressed a supposed animator from the well-known Toei Animation studio.

Literature has not been spared from the most unlikely news either. Juan Gómez-Jurado, author of the renowned Red Queen saga, which will soon have a series adaptation on Prime Video; He would be facing a possible lawsuit from the Corps of Forestry Agents in the Community of Madrid. According to Esquire, the authorities would seek to denounce him for “incitement to Arsonism”, all because of his book Todo Arde and the sequel Todo Vuelve.

Along the same lines, politics and books have gone hand in hand in an innocent story published by Màxim Huerta. The former Minister of Culture and Sports shared a message on social networks announcing a signing session for Tierra Firme, the chronicle published by the president of the government, Pedro Sánchez. The event would take place in the bookstore he owns in his native Buñol, La Librería de Doña Leo, causing a sensation on X (Twitter).
