More than 63,000 people have requested the Shopping Basket Bonus in the first 24 hours, since the Generalitat began this past Thursday the prior appointment process to request the help with which it is intended to support families to alleviate the effects of the rise in food prices, as reported by the Presidency of the Generalitat.
The voucher works in the format of a prepaid wallet card of 90 euros per person, which will be activated for 4 months and will be used to pay for food in all establishments in the food sector in the Valencian Community.
Specifically, the 90-euro Shopping Basket Bonus can be requested on the web until July 14, 2023 through a "simple and simplified" procedure, they say from the regional administration.
Once the prior appointment is requested, the request will be made, which can be done in person within the days/hours of the prior appointment at any Post and Telegraph office, or electronically, for which requires electronic certificate and electronic signature.
When making the request, you may indicate the type of card you wish to receive, which may be physical (it will be received at the address indicated in the request) or virtual (it is planned to be downloaded to your mobile, for which you need to have of NFC technology). When the beneficiary is granted the aid, they will be informed by email of the resolution and from that moment they will receive the Bono Cesta prepaid card.
Depending on the type of card chosen in your application, you will receive it by email (in the case of virtual cards) or by post (in the case of physical cards).
Once the beneficiary has the card, they must activate it. In the case of physical cards, the letter you receive will indicate how to activate your card, while in virtual cards, the email received will indicate how to activate your card, and from that moment on You can use the Bono Cesta prepaid card.
In addition, the Generalitat has made available to the public a telephone number to answer questions, 96 099 01 07, which is available from this Thursday from Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., as well as the email address email bo_cistella@gva.es.
Residents and tax domiciles in the Valencian Community who have had a family income of less than 21,000 euros per year in 2021, as well as people who during 2022 have worked for someone else; have received unemployment benefit or subsidy/subsidy; have received the Minimum Vital Income or have received the Valencian Inclusion Income.
As a complement and in collaboration with the Generalitat's Shopping Basket Bonus programme, the large food distributors in the Valencian Community and a small business sector will donate up to one million euros to NGOs and non-profit associations for the purchase food.
With these requirements, it is estimated that the aid can reach up to 500,000 beneficiaries, with a total economic impact of 48.44 million euros assuming that all potential beneficiaries receive the aid.
