Mo Katir and Esther Guerrero sign up for the Jean Bouin of the centenary

Mo Katir (25) and Esther Guerrero (33) have added the victory in the Jean Bouin of the centenary, an event organized by Mundo Deportivo, to their extensive international record.

Katir, who had already won the 2021 edition, Spanish record holder in the 1,500 and 5,000, double medalist in World Championships (2022 and 2023), has abandoned his intense concentrations in Sierra Nevada for a few days to fly over the asphalt of Montjuïc: during the first of the three laps of the traditional race circuit (for a total distance of 9,900), Katir maintained control of the group of five runners and then accelerated to leave alone and open a margin of one minute ( signed 29m25s) over the Uruguayan Santiago Catrofe, second at the end (30m23s), and Nicolás Cuesta (30m26s).

Esther Guerrero, originally an 800m runner who has been climbing in distance until settling on the 1,500m, has shown that she can also defend herself at higher distances, such as the 6,600m in the women's event, in which she has recorded 22m48s, almost half a minute below the Laura Rodríguez's mark (23m15s). Third was Judith Otazua (23m21s).

The Jean Bouin has hosted 17 events, a melting pot of distances that has given space to all categories.

In the popular five kilometers, Brahim Fateh (14m26s) and Rebeca Suárez (16m54s) have won and in the ten kilometers, Dmitrijs Serjogins (29m42s) and Cristina Silva (34m39s).
