Mito, a digital art gallery

“As a result of the NFT (non-fungible tokens) boom, we came up with the idea of launching a digital art gallery,” explains Jose Puche, one of the co-founders of Rungie, the Barcelona start-up behind the Mito digital art gallery. The Rungie entrepreneurs capitalized on the success of these digital units of value, but at the same time they solved an unmet need: that of digitizing the works or selling a digital work. "We have opened a new world for artists and, in addition, we offer them the possibility of following the traceability of the sale, meeting the buyers and creating their own community on Web 3", adds Puche.

They target Spanish-speaking artists. Since its launch a year ago, Mito has housed 28 collections, from 27 artists, and has been involved in the sale of more than a thousand works. "They are, above all, collections of national artists, but we are already opening up to other countries such as Venezuela, Mexico, Peru, Argentina or Colombia," Puche specifies. Until the end of this year they plan to launch ten more collections.

In Mito, transactions are made in tokens, but they also allow card payment for those less advanced in the matter. “The first year we have dedicated to eliminating the frictions that this unknown world awakens. For example, we have helped many buyers to create their token wallet” indicates Sergi Moral, Rungie's communication manager.

The digital art gallery has just launched a section where collectors will meet artists to access additional art content through a rewards system, creating a super community. The new service is part of Mito's plan to give more and more options to artists and collectors, improving their professional projection and their user experience, respectively. "We don't want to be just one more because our goal is not to be a market focused purely on speculation," adds Puche.

With a team of 15 people, Rungie has received an injection of one million euros from an investment fund. The entrepreneurs are moving the company's headquarters to Switzerland "because they are more advanced at the regulatory level, which makes things easier for us in an activity as innovative as ours," justifies the co-founder of the emerging company.
