Metro line 7 in Madrid remains interrupted after another night of rain

Another Monday with problems in the Madrid metro network. On this occasion, it was the turn of line 7, which will remain closed for more than eight hours between the Las Musas and García Noblejas stations. That is, it affects four stations, in addition to the two mentioned, San Blas and Simancas.

Metro de Madrid has explained on its X account (formerly Twitter) that the outage is "in both directions" and that the breakdown is due to "technical causes." Does not specify more.

That section of the suburban is usually flooded with episodes of intense rain, like those that the capital has experienced tonight. During the night, up to 43.1 liters of water were collected, according to data provided by Aemet in the Madrid-Barajas Airport area, which is close to where the incidents occurred in the metro.

With this breakdown, complaints have multiplied on social networks. From users requesting bus alternatives if the service is going to be practically interrupted until 3 p.m. this Monday or even demanding that they be notified at the metro entrance and not once they have passed the turnstiles. This is the case of the philosopher and cartoonist Derrapé who comments "it would be good to see the poster of the incident at the subway entrance, not at the turnstiles when you have already descended the stairs."

In this sense, Metro de Madrid has responded that "in these cases we inform by all available means, including public address systems, teleindicators, web, social networks and the application, in addition to signage."

Even users ask Metro de Madrid on social networks how to get to their destination. And this offers alternatives, but with a much longer trip duration, since you have to take buses and other metro lines.
