Mery Perelló says the last goodbye to her father with Rafa Nadal

Mery Perelló's father, Miquel Perelló, and father-in-law of tennis champion Rafa Nadal, died at the age of 63 this Thursday in Manacor. This was revealed by the local media Última hora. The businessman, dedicated to the construction sector, died after a long illness. Miquel Perelló was a well-known and very loved person on the Balearic island, in the same way as the rest of the family. The loss of him has meant a hard setback for the family, who have said their last goodbye this Friday.

With the same discretion that has always characterized the family, the Perellós met in the town of Manacor to say goodbye to Miquel this Friday at a funeral mass that took place in the Parish of Cristo Rey in Manacor. Mery Perelló and her mother, María Pascual, went to the place devastated and sheltered by the former's husband, Rafa Nadal, who did not leave them alone for a moment in these difficult moments.

At the funeral, Rafa Nadal's relatives were seen, such as Maribel Nadal, the tennis player's sister, and his parents Ana María Parera and Sebastián Nadal, who are very close to Mery and the whole family. Miquel leaves a family completely devastated. Married from his youth to María Pascual, together they formed a solid family that, over time, grew larger with the birth of his only daughter, Mery. They were an example for it of what true love is.

According to some information, Miquel Perelló knew how to develop a considerable real estate heritage. He learned the construction trade from his father, also famous in the area for being in charge of the rehabilitation, among others, of the Torre dels Enagistes. He was a well-known person in the place, so his death has been a severe setback for many people who had the pleasure of knowing him.

This sad news comes after Miquel became a first-time grandfather last October. Rafael, the eldest son of Rafa Nadal and Xisca Perelló, was born at the Quironsalud de Palmaplanas medical center in Palma de Mallorca. The baby came into the world at week 37 of gestation and did so in perfect condition, despite the previous complications that his mother had. A few months earlier, in August, Perelló was admitted to the same private clinic for some complication, coinciding with her 31st week of pregnancy. It was not an easy pregnancy, but little Rafa will be the one to help them cope with this loss.

Added to all this is the complicated stage that Rafa is experiencing, as far as sports are concerned. Just a few weeks ago, Nadal made public his decision to give up participating in the Monte Carlo tournament, because he had not yet recovered from an injury he suffered at the beginning of the year. "I am not yet ready to compete at the highest level, so I will not be able to play in one of the most important tournaments of my career, Monte Carlo," he expressed on social networks. A hard setback that has nothing to do with the pain the family feels after losing Miquel.
