Measures against inflation and aid to families, axes of Ximo Puig's General Policy speech

Actions of an urgent nature to fight against the inflation generated by the invasion of Ukraine and maintain economic activity, a new package of measures to help families in the face of the impact of the rise in prices and the tax update will be the axes of the intervention of the President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, during the General Policy Debate.

Puig has held working meetings with the Vice President and Minister of Equality and Inclusive Policies, Aitana Mas, and the Second Vice President and Minister of Housing, Héctor Illueca, to address the main lines of the Debate that will begin in Les Corts next Tuesday 27 of September.

The president has also transferred to them the outline of his intervention in the parliamentary session, as reported by sources from the Presidency this Saturday.

During the meetings with Mas and Ilueca, the future framework of the Valencian Community was also analyzed, which implies maintaining the commitment to consolidate and expand the economic and social transformation initiated seven years ago by the Government of the Botànic.

In the conversations, the importance was highlighted that, while the conjunctural response to the scenario generated by inflation must be addressed, the Consell advances in the promotion of the sustainable economic revolution, reindustrialization, digitalization and, as priority objectives, creating quality employment and guaranteeing access to housing.

In the same way, the actions of the Consell that will be defined in the intervention of the president, with a horizon that looks towards the next legislature, "will reinforce the social turn that has allowed the Valencian Community to advance in rights, in support of dependent people, in the dignity of public education and in universal and advanced healthcare," according to the sources.

The vice-president Aitana Mas has been interested in why the General Policy Debate is raised from the axes marked by the Consell in its seminar in Alcoi and has said that the Botànic "must maintain the discourse of a plural government, focused on the well-being of the majority and the defense of the most vulnerable part of our society".

"We have been, are and will be a leading government in reform matters and a guarantee of budgetary stability all these years, an issue that has been a chimera for even many single-color governments. We are entering the transition phase towards the third Botànic", pointed out the vice president

The second vice president, Héctor Illueca, has expressed his concern about the repercussions on families of the rise in mortgage prices and the increase in interest rates, and has considered that housing policies "must be a priority so that they do not repeat the effects of the 2008 crisis".

The vice president has highlighted the "institutional loyalty" of the forces of the Botànic, and has transferred to the president the "need to refine the budget negotiation to determine with precision and success the policies of the Consell for the coming years".
