McLaren's 750S, a tribute to the team's success in winning the 'triple crown'

On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of McLaren, founded in 1963, the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) division has carried out a commemorative project – the most challenging and intensive carried out by the company's painting technique experts – that pays homage the team's singular success in winning the unofficial triple crown of motorsport.

The name of the theme, 3-7-59, is a reference to the competition numbers worn by the winning McLarens in each of the three individual victories: the 3 of the M16D that won the 1974 Indianapolis 500 driven by Johnny Rutherford; the 7 of Alain Prost's McLaren MP4/2 that won the 1984 F-1 Monaco Grand Prix, and the 59 worn by the McLaren F1 GTR that won the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans with Yannick Dalmas, Masanori Sekiya and JJ Lehto at the wheel.

As a tribute to this milestone, six unique coupe and spyder units of the new 750S (all already sold) have been personalized with unique variations of a combination of the liveries of the three winning cars with illustrative details of the three races. Requiring more than 1,200 hours of work, this vivid collage has taken McLaren's painting capabilities and mastery to new heights, incorporating more than 20 different colors to create the cars' striking exterior design, which boasts astonishing depth. and fluidity, as well as striking graphic effects.

In addition to the craftsmanship displayed on the bodywork of all six 750S Triple Crowns, MSO technicians have also included new hidden and interactive features. There are three QR codes distributed on the exterior and interior that provide access to a web page detailing the elements of each livery. Furthermore, with a certain light and angle, the 3-7-59 motif shines reflected in the support that houses the LED headlights within the headlight assembly. At the rear, an electrochromic MSO logo illuminates on the brake light mounted at the bottom of the airbrake.

The interior, also bespoke, complements the exclusive 3-7-59 livery with additional details, such as the Triple Crown logo stitched in McLaren Orange on the headrests or embossed on the center armrest. Exclusive McLaren 60th Anniversary options also offer McLaren customers the opportunity to personalize their supercars with a new range of cosmetic packages and visual elements available for the new series production models: GT, Artura and 750S .
